My vision is that positive health begins with peace. The body is at peace when it is balanced and all internal organs from the brain to the heart work as intended. The body, given time and clinical
support, will try to find a way back to homeostasis through its own immune system which seeks peace without our conscious control. A healthy body supports a healthy mindset. If the mind is at peace then individuals will make health decisions that are beneficial for their own well-being and the well-being of others. When an individual is at peace then a step is taken towards a society that can be peace-driven.
Health touches us all. We are all one false step or one pernicious chronic condition away from the emergency room. The fragility of our bodies and our lives is something we push to the back of our minds to avoid fear. Yet in our socially-conflicted era burdened by isolation, depression and loneliness in an integrated and constantly-connected digital environment, many voices go unheard. Many in the greatest need continue to face barriers to getting help. Some individuals have greater access to health resources due to disparities which persist in racial, economic and identity categories which divide us.
